On April 24, the special event of the 2nd China International Energy Storage Conference CESC2024, the Green Development Forum of New Energy Ship Industry, was held in the Yangtze Hall of the Nanjing International Expo Center Conference Center. Government representatives, experts and scholars from universities and research institutes, and heads of shipbuilding and repair companies gathered together to discuss the innovation and application of green ship technology and jointly promote the high-quality development of the new energy ship industry. Guan Yifeng, director of the Ship Design Institute of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology and deputy secretary-general of the Jiangsu Ship Industry Association, hosted the event.

Ou Qingkui, deputy secretary-general of Jiangsu Shipbuilding Industry Association, delivered a speech at the forum. Zhang Lei, expert and senior engineer of Jiangsu Branch of China Classification Society, Wu Yunxiang, general manager of CSSC (Wuxi) Electric Technology Co., Ltd., Zhang Zhang, deputy manager of Technical Equipment Support Center of Barge Branch of Lianyungang Port Group Co., Ltd. and other industry experts and enterprise representatives gave keynote speeches at the forum, covering government policy interpretation, green development of ships, development trend of battery-powered ships, research and application of pure electric tugboats, top-level design thinking of electric ship industrialization, ship power battery solutions, application of hydrogen fuel cells in green ships, overall design cases of new energy ships, and development and application of lithium batteries in small and medium-sized ships.

The development of the industry cannot be separated from the support of projects. The event also held a centralized signing ceremony for three projects. CSSC Saisiyi Electric Technology Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Modern Shipbuilding Technology Co., Ltd. jointly signed a contract for the design and development project of a scalable (1+N) inland large-capacity, ultra-long-endurance battery-swap container ship; Shanghai Chengrui Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Xinhang Ship Technology Co., Ltd. signed a contract for a new propulsion method project for lithium battery-powered ships; Jiangsu Zhongzhi Marine Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Manhai Technology Co., Ltd. signed a contract for a photovoltaic intelligent unmanned cleaning ship project. This will inject strong impetus into the upgrading and development of related industries.
